Insurance vs. Self-pay

Out of pocket options:  $160/session

I. Linda is accepting clients in Network with Aetna. She is also a Non-Participating/Out of Network Provider. A letter (superbill) will be provided for clients to submit to their insurance carrier to request reimbursement. Clients should check with their insurance company to see if and how they would be reimbursed for out of network providers. You may also want to ask for the number of sessions covered.

II. Self-pay - Take control of your own health and not allow insurance companies to tell you what and how much you need. No need to be diagnosed.

Reasons to see an out of network therapist:

1. Work with someone with a unique skill-set (CBT, Animal Assisted Interventions, incorporating nature with walk and talk therapy...)

2. You have a high deductible plan

3. You have good out of network benefits. Some plans reimburse up to 80%

4. You want highly personalized services-out of the box, non-traditional

5. You don't wish to work with insurance -privacy from family/parents

6. Privacy from insurance companies - no diagnosis needed!

7. You don't want to wait to start therapy

8. Diagnosis can have implications for obtaining life insurance for example.
